Covid 19 Camping Policy
Shelter Valley Park welcomes you back! Please read this Code of Conduct and review it with all family members. The rules in this Code must be followed to ensure we all stay safe and do not engage in activities that contravene any Provincial or Federal Government regulations and ensure we comply with all health regulations. Please note these guidelines may change as more information is released by the local health unit and governem
This Code is over and above our normal campground rules, which still apply. Strict enforcement of all rules will be in place for all registered names on your occupancy agreement. Any camper, regardless of age, who breaches this Code will be asked to leave the campground immediately and your Licence of Occupation will be cancelled.
If you have a fever, cough, or flu-type symptoms, please stay home. If you have tested positive for COVID-19, are a presumptive case, or have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive or is a presumptive case, we request that you do not attempt to enter the campground. Please remain at your residence until you have been cleared by your local health department and/or you have finished your self-isolation of 14 days.
If you are returning from travel from outside of the Province of Ontario, do not plan to visit the campground for a period of 14 days, please remain home.
At this time, we will be operating under the following rules. As the COVID-19 situation is fluid and ever-changing these rules may change as the Ontario or Federal Government amends legislation.
Visitors
Until further notice, only people whose names are listed on the License of Occupation will be permitted in Shelter Valley Park.
Common Areas
The following common areas are closed until further notice. If you are unsure whether something is closed or not, please contact the office for clarification.

Walking around Campground
At all times campers must obey social distancing rules as mandated by the Province of Ontario. Currently, you must stay 2 meters or 6 feet away from other campers. You may walk along the river if social distancing rules are followed.
Limit of People on a Campsite
The Province of Ontario will be determining the social gathering limit per site. This will be posted and updated as per governmernt regulations.
Children and/or Under the age of 16
We expect that all parents will ensure their children will obey the rules 24/7. If your children cannot follow these rules, please do not bring them to the campground at this time.
Events/Activities
All planned events have been put on hold at this time. As soon as we are safely allowed we will resume planned activities in the park.
Limit of campers in an area
Campers are expected to respect and obey all signage which restricts the number of people permitted in certain areas. Social distancing and gathering rules must be followed.
Supplies
- Our local supply chain can accommodate your purchases, you are able to shop locally. Please remember that all social distancing must be followed.
Office
- The office is open. Please do not enter the office if you see another customer already inside. Please stay outside of the office and obey all social distancing rules.
- If you are with a family member please ask them to remain outside. If you both want to speak to Jane or Steve, she/he will come outside to speak to you.
- There is a mailbox on the north side of the office (near the ice machine). Please use it as a drop box for cheques and any other correspondence.
- If you are coming into the office and need to sign any documentation, you may bring your own pen. A sanitized pen will also be available.
Respect of others and staff
All Customers, guests, and staff are responsible for respecting the dignity and rights of everyone at the campground. There are inherent and unforeseen risks involved in camping especially during this COVID period. I/we acknowledge that situations may arise that are out of the control of Shelter Valley Park and that we are assuming that risk when we come to the campground. I/we will do our part to make the campground safe for ourselves and our neighbours by following this Code of Conduct.
